The rules

• Alaska requires construction-contractor registration, bonding and insurance for covered independent contractor work, regardless of job size, subject to statutory exemptions. The General Contractor–Handyman credential is a limited registration for projects not exceeding $10,000 in aggregate labor and materials; it is not permission to work without registration. General and specialty contractors must obtain the appropriate registration before bidding or working. Source
