Who and what this applies to

Private construction within C.G.S. §42-158i. Excluded: contracts with the listed federal/state/local public entities, HUD-funded or HUD-insured projects, owner-contractor contracts of $25,000 or less and resulting subcontracts, and residential buildings of four or fewer units.

The rules

  • Covered contracts must require owner payment of amounts due within 30 days after a written request from a covered contractor, subcontractor or supplier under §42-158j(a)(1). Source
  • Contractor-to-subcontractor/supplier and successive lower-tier payments are due within 25 days after receipt of the corresponding payment. Payment requisitions must include the pending-change information required by §42-158j(b). Source
